VOICE LESSONS

Private one-on-one instruction with a qualified voice teacher allows students to develop their voice through proper technique, which includes proper breath control, supporting the sound, allowing their vocal range to expand as well as creating a healthy projected sound. Students develop their ear for more accurate pitch. Students receive training in different styles of music, including musical theatre songs, classical, pop, folk, country and jazz.
Private voice training allows a teacher to meet the specific vocal needs of each student no matter their age or ability.

The class focus is on dancing styles for the stage which include ballet, tap, hip hop and jazz. All classes will give beginner students a high energy, fun environment to learn skills in many different forms of theatre style dance.

LIGHTS OF BROADWAY

Lights of Broadway is starting its 21st season. Past productions have included The Sound of Music, Footloose, Shrek, Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Mamma Mia, Newsies, Matilda and most recently, Sister Act!
This program is designed to develop singing, acting and dance by working toward a show at the Performing Arts Center each spring.

Co-requisite: Beginner Music Theory. If you do not read music notation at a beginner level, you must be willing to take beginner theory with Charity each Monday 15 minutes prior to the start of class.

This class will allow adult students the excitement of learning and growing as a musical theatre performer as they work on technique in singing, harmonizing, acting and dance. This group class will work towards an early spring performance each year.

This class will introduce students to the exciting world of theatre acting! From the fundamental basics of voice and body through to the thrilling moment of performance. Games and activities will familiarize students with techniques and skills to improve performance ability in a fun, safe and supportive atmosphere. Students will apply their learning in solo and group pieces to be shown at recitals throughout the year.
